Joseph L. Pilot

Funeral services for Mr. Joseph L. Pilot will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 2 PM from the graveside in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Charles Yoho officiating. Family and friends will meet at the graveside. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 20, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Pilot, 79, of Aiken, SC, husband of the late Peggy Mae Sanford Pilot, died Sunday, morning, January 18, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Monetta, SC, a son of the late Faith Arthur and Jelly Blanche Pilot, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC, for the past forty-years where he along with his late wife, ran Pilot?s Grocery. He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.

A son, Ronald ?Ron? Pilot, Dallas, GA; daughters, Wanda Pilot, West Columbia, SC and April Pilot, Wagener, SC; brothers, Ralph, Otis, Stanley, Donnie, Gerald, and Grover Pilot, all of Lexington, SC; sisters, Viola Jones, Leesville, SC and Catherine Burton, West Columbia, SC; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, survive.

The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mr. Pilot be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Drawer K., Aiken, SC 29802.
