Kenneth J. Sharp was born on October 13, 1927 in Reamstown, Pennsylvania in Lancaster County. He died on September 15, 2010 in Aiken, South Carolina. Kenneth attended grade school in Reamstown, PA and then the Denver PA School, from where he graduated as class president at age 16. He played in various school productions including the lead in at least one musical. He spent his youth on the farms of Davis Coldrin and Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Sharp. He attended Franklin & Marshall College, double majoring in Psychology and Religion. While there, he was president of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and vice president of the inter-fraternity council.

He entered Lutheran Theology Seminary of Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, PA and upon graduation, became pastor of Hegins Parish and Old Trappe Church in Collegeville, PA. He was ordained into the Episcopal Priesthood on November 3, 1956. He then was appointed as Curate to St. Andrew's Church in Albany, NY and Rector of Trinity Parish in Gloversville, NY. He became the Canon Pastor for thirteen years at the Washington National Cathedral. His responsibilities included visiting patients at all Washington, DC hospitals and serving as a liaison to all branches of the military. He also participated in countless, special events such as installations of chaplains.

Always having a financial bent, he trained in Bethesda, MD and St. Louis, MO for the position of Registered Representative and attended Washington University. After 15 years with A. G. Edwards, he was offered a position as senior vice president with Johnson Lemon and Company where he established a limited partnership division and an insurance division. He also worked with a select clientele, assisting them with managing their stocks and bonds. He was a past president of the Friendship Heights, MD Rotary Club and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. He also was a past secretary for the Friendship Heights Exchange Club.

He retired to Kiawah Island with his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Ann Kathryn and then moved to Aiken twelve years ago. He was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Gregory Sharp and Peter Sharp, and three grandchildren; Andrew, Stephen and Hadley.

Graveside funeral services will take place in the cemetery, adjacent his beloved Old Trappe Church at Collegeville, PA.
