Lessie Donovan

Graveside services for Mrs. Lessie Donovan are private for her family at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Burnettown. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER of Aiken, is assisting the Donovan family.

Mrs. Donovan, 82, formerly of Aiken, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Evans, GA.

A daughter of the late John W. Hedgepath and Bertie Purcell Hedgepath, she was born in Clinton, SC before moving to Aiken in 1954.

Before retiring in 1989, she had worked as a secretary for E. I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Site. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aiken.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Neal Donovan.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny G. Carr, Evans, GA and Rev. Dr. James L. Carr, Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Dolli Carr, Ladson, SC; a brother, Max J. Hedgepath, Asheville, NC and one sister, Shirley Bannister, Clinton, SC. She is also survived by many grandchildren and even great grandchildren.
