Marcelle Marie Dean

A funeral mass for Ms. Marcelle Marie Dean will be celebrated Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 10 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC, with Reverend Gade Show Reddy celebrant. Interment will be in the Dean family plot of Sacred Heart Church Cemetery, Adams, MN.

Ms. Dean, 102, of Aiken, SC, died Sunday, afternoon, July 27, 2003.

Born in Adams, MN, a daughter of the late William W. and Lena Vega Dean, she had been a resident of Aiken, SC, for the past thirteen years where she had been a former resident of Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center and at the time of her death was a resident of Eden Gardens.

Ms. Dean graduated from high school at the Visitation Convent in St. Paul Minnesota and later from Carleton College, Northfield, MN and taught High School for many years at Morrison, IL. She was housemother at Dean Lodges built by her grandmother, so her four children could attend Carleton. She was also employed by the Red Cross during World War II.

A brother, Lt. Col. William W. Dean, Jr., US Army Retired and his wife, Tessa, Aiken, SC, survive.
