Marguerite Mann Sand

Funeral services for Marguerite Peg Mann Sand will be held Friday, March 24, 2006 at 1pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert T. Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23 from 6 ? 8pm at George Funeral Homes, 211 Park Avenue, SW. Mrs. Sand, widow of Merv Sand, passed away peacefully at her home at Eden Gardens, Aiken, SC, on Monday, March 20, 2006. The daughter of the late Orville and Aurel Williams Mann, she was born September 29, 1921 in Bingham Lake, MN. She was a proud graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and taught music in elementary school in both Illinois and Aiken, SC. A devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, she sang in the choir for many years and will be remembered fondly by the members of the church youth choir which she directed.

Peg was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her sister Burdean Benjamin. She is survived by her sisters Jeanette Kragskow, Indianola, IA and Beth Swanberg, Lady Lake, FL, and their husbands. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother to her children Rick Sand Dorothy, Orange, TX; Gene Hall Peter, Bedford, MA; and Paul Sand Susan, Aiken, SC; grandchildren Erik Hall, Rebekah Hall and Caitlin Sand.
