Marie Caroline Long Westendorff

A memorial service for Mrs. Marie Caroline Long Westendorff will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2pm at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Mrs. Westendorff, 91, of Aiken, died Monday, February 1, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Ross Long. She retired from the Dorn VA Medical Center with twenty five years of service as an Executive Assistant. She was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Eastern Star, St. Elizabeth's Chapter, and Houndslake Country Club. She was an avid Gamecock fan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jim Walter Westendorff. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Glenn Frierson, Columbia, SC; granddaughters, Emily Frierson, Ashley Frierson, and Hannah Grace Frierson and a close cousin, Mary Long Martin Brown, Columbia, SC.
