Marvin Joseph Allison

AIKEN, SC - Marvin Joseph Allison, age 82, entered into rest Friday, September 8, 2017.

Mr. Allison was born March 6, 1935 in Princeton, NJ to the late Leon and Ethelyn Allison. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired as a supervisor from AT& T. Mr. Allison had made Aiken, SC his home since 1999. He was an avid sports fan, especially Philadelphia football, baseball, and basketball teams. He also enjoyed yardwork and was a devoted father and husband. After retirement, he traveled the country extensively with his wife.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Ruth Smith; three sisters, and a brother.

He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Allison (Christine), Aiken, SC and Richard Allison (Vicki Matthews), Warrington, PA; three grandchildren, Megan, Kyra and Jared Allison; and two sisters, Ethelyn Allison and Marguerite Taylor.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at George Funeral Home. A graveside service (family members only), with military honors, will follow at 1:00 PM at the Southlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
