New Ellenton, SC – Mary Loys Pittman, age 90, passed away peacefully March 22, 2024, at NHC of Greenwood, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Pittman was born September 8, 1933, in Sumter, SC. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Eudora Lee. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, gospel music, and serving the Lord. She dedicated her life in service to the church in many areas of need, education, music, mission work and administration and declared an unwavering love for her family. Her wish was for all of them was to love the Lord, love their family and serve others. Mrs. Pittman also enjoyed her career as a purchasing agent for K-Mart. She will be remembered as the matriarch of her family and is the unity that held it together so well.

Surviving are her Children, Steve Lankford Sr., (Nancy), Greenwood, SC, Rhonda Odom, (Gary), Greenwood, SC, David Lankford, (Vonne), Pikeville, NC, Dodie McKenzie, (Jeff), Louisville, KY; Grandchildren, PJ Boland (Russ), Stephen Lankford, Jr. (Blake), Jonathan Lankford, Gary Lee Odom (Nikki), David Odom (Amanda), Thomas Lankford (Paula), David Kyle Lankford (Paloma), Jennifer McKenzie-Gauss (Sam), Joseph McKenzie (Shelby), Great-grandchildren, Kyrston Heath, Amelia Heath, Turner Boland (Emma), Ashby Boland, Stephen “Tripp” Lankford, III, Claire Lankford, Jonathan Lankford, Jr., Jasmine Lankford, Jenaveve Lankford, Lauren Odom, Reagan Odom, Taylor Odom, Noah Odom, Gavin Odom, Levi Odom, Asher Odom, Landon Lankford, Trenton Lankford, Ashtyn Ganey, Parker Ganey, Madeleine Lankford, Zara Lankford, Juniper McKenzie.

Mrs. Pittman is preceded in death by her first husband, Ira E. Lankford; her second husband, Charles W. Pittman, grandson, Walter W. Lankford; great granddaughter, Mary Tensley Heath and a great granddaughter, Isabella Maria Lankford.

Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024, at Corinth Baptist Church, New Ellenton, SC, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dale Levan officiating. The family graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m, Friday in Southlawn Cemetery.
