AIKEN, SC - Mary Anne Wellendorf, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 29th, 2025, at the age of 85. Born December 24th, 1939, in Aiken, South Carolina. Mary lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and deep commitment to her family and community.
A resident of Aiken, South Carolina, Mary Anne as she was affectionally known by will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Cynthia, Patricia, and her son, John. Mary Anne’s dedication to her family was unwavering. She also was very socially outgoing and truly enjoyed decorating and gardening. She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and retired from Kroger, Aiken, SC.
Mary was proceeded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Freed. Mary Anne’s memory will always be cherished by her surviving family members, Cynthia (Michael) Weeks of Bluffton, South Carolina, Patricia Brown of Savannah, Georgia and John (Angie) McLaughlin of Aiken, South Carolina, and a loving niece Kelli (Joseph) Dailey, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mary Anne’s family and friends will always remember her as loving, generous, and joyful presences in their lives. She possessed a warmth that touched everyone she met and left a legacy of kindness and goodwill.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated May 12, 2025, at 11 am at Old Historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
