Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Rogers Watson will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 11 AM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Reverend Jonathan Van Deventer officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2002 from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Watson, 85, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late Peyton W. Watson, Sr., died Monday, afternoon, December 16, 2002 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Macon, GA, a daughter of the late Carl D. Rogers, Sr. and the late Rose Mae Bivins Rogers, she had lived in Aiken, SC, since 1953, where she was a housewife and attended First Presbyterian Church.

A son, Peyton W. ?Tom? Watson, Jr., and his wife Jennie, Charlotte, NC; brother, Carl D. Rogers, Jr., Deerfield Beach, FL; sister, Frances Taylor, Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Kimberly Sabol, Kirsten Blevins, and Peyton R. ?Randy? Watson, and three great-grandchildren, Caitlin Blevins, Josh Blevins, and Kathryn Sabol, survive.

The family has requested that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Home, 213 Laurens St., NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
