Millie Friedman

Funeral services for Millie Friedman, of Aiken, will be held at 2 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken. Burial will follow in Sons of Israel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 pm - 7:30 pm Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Friedman, Herb Weinstock, Brian Evans & Brian Graffam. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5211, Aiken, SC 29804.

Mrs. Friedman, widow of Sol Friedman, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Born in Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late Abraham & Rose Shapiro Getskin. Along with her husband Sol, they moved to Aiken in 1958 and started Aiken Industries in 1962. In 1977 Mrs. Friedman started her own business, making & designing nursing uniforms and in 1993 she expanded her business to Augusta. Mrs. Friedman loved art work and boating. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother, Irving Getskin and her sister, Blanche Klosenberg.

Surviving are her son, Cary Friedman Sarah of Lexington; a daughter, Barbara "Bobbi" Friedman Palmer Greg of Aiken; grandchildren, Ali Burch of Atlanta, Robin Burch Graffam Brian of Tampa, Eric Friedman Rebekah of Memphis, David Friedman of Evans, GA and Brian Evans Teresa of Barbourville, KY; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Maddox, Stella, Jacob, Grace and Caroline; and her companion, Larry Evans of Aiken.
