Murrell Odell Phillips

AIKEN, SC - Murrell O. "Flip" Phillips was born on July 4, 1936 in Bedford, VA and passed away on May 31, 2021.

He was the son of Ruby Cecil Owen Phillips and Marshall Orien Phillips. Survived by his wife Linda Hesson Phillips of Aiken, SC; one daughter, Amy Phillips Dukes; two grandchildren Jacob Michael Dukes and Ella Elizabeth Dukes of Martinez, GA; and one sister, Partrica Phillips Hargis; two brothers, Randall Kent Phillips (LaVaughn), Sherwood Van Phillips (Rosalie) of Lynchburg, VA.

Predeceased by his parents and two sons, Christopher Alan Phillips and Andrew Michael Phillips.

He loved animals and running. He started running later in life and ran numerous Ten Milers and went on to run two Marathons.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken, SC.
