Nile R. Johnson

Aiken, SC-Funeral services for Mr. Nile R. Johnson will be held Monday, September 16, 2002 at 11 AM from the graveside in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Rodney Powell officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 15, 2002 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson, 83, of Aiken, SC, husband of Mrs. Barbara Lewis Johnson, died Friday, night, September 13, 2002 at home.

Born in Kanawah County, WV, a son of the late Howard L. Johnson and the late Fannie Kissinger Johnson, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC, since 1953 and retired after twenty-eight years of service as a Draftsman with E.I. DuPont. An avid sportsman, Mr. Johnson was an inductee to the West Virginia Athletic Hall of Fame and was a lifetime member of Highland Park Country Club.

In addition to his wife of sixty-years, Mrs. Barbara Lewis Johnson, a son, Michael L. and his wife, Holly Z. Johnson, Aiken, SC; daughter-in-law, Barbara F. Johnson, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, R. Scott Johnson, United States Navy, Korea, Brian M. Johnson, Charlotte, NC, and Sarah K. Johnson, Aiken, SC; sister, Ruth Kiser, Leesburg, VA; and brother, Marvin P. Johnson, Boonsboro, MD, survive. A son, Robert L. Johnson, preceded him in death in 1995.
