Norman Lee Strader

March 19, 1934 — November 16, 2004

Funeral services for M/Sgt. Norman Lee Strader, U.S.A.F., Ret. will be held Friday, November 19, 2004 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC, with Pastor Randy Taylor officiating. Interment will full military honors accorded by the U.S.A.F. honor guard will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the funeral home.

M/Sgt. Strader, 70, of New Ellenton, SC, husband of Mrs. Linda Riddle Strader, died suddenly Tuesday, morning, November 16, 2004 at his home.

Born in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Thad Parker and Selma Pauline Womble Strader, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired having obtained the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Strader was a former Chief of Police for the City of New Ellenton as well as the City of Surfside Beach, SC. He was a Mason as well as a Shriner.

In addition to his wife, sons, Stephen, Christopher, and Johnny Strader, all of Virginia Beach, VA, and Ryan Strader, New Ellenton, SC; daughters, Laura Nelson, Virginia Beach, VA and Jennifer Cooper, New Ellenton, SC; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, survive.
