Nunzio Romano

A Requiem Mass for Mr. Nunzio Romano will be celebrated at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10am. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW. A vigil service is being scheduled for Thursday evening during the visitation.

Mr. Romano, 79, of Aiken, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A son of the late Anthony Romano and Carmella Santa Maria Romano, he was born in Sicily, came to the United States in 1959 and had lived in Belmont, MA before moving to Aiken seventeen years ago.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and loved gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Romano.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Giunta Romano, Aiken; two sons, Anthony Tracy Romano, Waltham, MA and Roy Judy Romano, Aiken; a brother, Mario Romano, Medford, MA and two sisters, Carmella Papotto, Pembroke, MA and Emilia Giordano, Chicago, IL. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kayla Romano, Joel Romano, Heather Romano and Danielle Romano.
