Olivia Macon Morrison

Olivia Macon Morrison, 88, of Aiken, SC went to the Lord on January 9, 2025.

Olivia was born February 2, 1936, in Selma, Alabama to Catherine Taylor Macon and Thomas Leonard Macon.

Olivia spent her childhood in Alabama. She graduated from Stratford High School in Danville, Virginia and attended the University of Alabama. Olivia also lived in Akron, Ohio, before moving to Oak Ridge, Tennessee where she found the love of her life, her husband James M. Morrison. They moved to Aiken, SC in 1984 where they lived until the end of their lives. They were married 53 years.

Olivia was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of The American Revolution, the Oak Ridge Foothills Craft Guild, Kappa Kappa Gamma and St. Thaddeus Church of Aiken, SC.

Olivia was passionate about gardening and all the things of nature.

She and her husband shared a love for travel and had grand adventures traveling in the state and abroad. She was a wizard at crossword puzzles and loved angels.

Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Olivia is survived by her daughters Olivia Broody (Jim) of Saluda, NC and Sarah Shadburne, Charlotte, NC, her stepchildren Veronica Ferguson (Tom) of Lenoir City, TN, David Morrison (Libby) of Lenoir City, TN, Alan Morrison (Keri) of Cumming, GA, Jeff Morrison (Mary) of Winter Spring, FL and eight grandchildren, Michael (Antonio), Drew (Blair), Alex, Ryan, Dylan, Allen, Michael and Katie.

In addition to her parents, Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Morrison, her two sisters, Sarah Catherine Macon and Croom Macon Barrett and two sons Allen Veach and Alvis Veach.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with the Reverend Dr. Marshall A. Jolly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
