Patrick Clyde Brooks

Funeral services for Patrick Clyde Brooks will be held on Tuesday September 9, 2003 at 11:00am at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton Ave. Aiken with Fr. Howard Hess officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mackie Walker, Ron Lewellyn, Anthony Harris, Buddy Coward, Taylor Garnett, Ed Erjavec, Hank Elder, Richard Eisenberg, Roy McLain and Len Yaun. George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken is in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Clyde Brooks, son of the late Colonel Clyde E. and Virginia Brooks, died September 5th at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband of 31 years of Deborah Brooks. He is survived by his best friend and brother Clark Brooks of Jackson Hole, Wyoming as well as his brother-in-law, Dan Lasky, and devoted son-in-law, Mackie Walker. He was the proud father of two daughters, Piper Brooks Walker, and Hilary Brooks.

Patrick traveled all over the world with his family. He was a brave and decorated member of the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts for his bravery in Viet Nam. He was a graduate of Washington & Lee University, and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He was a CPA on the staff of Arthur Andersen in Washington, D.C. He also worked for the Inspector General of the Department of Energy and testified before Congress on various occasions. He retired from the Department of Energy in 1998, in Aiken, SC, where he enjoyed various entrepreneurial enterprises and real estate development. He was the inventor and distributor of the 44 Magnum series of cigar cutters, which are sold all over the world.

Patrick was a lifelong Episcopalian, and a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. He leaves his love to a lifetime of friends, fellow golfers, and cigar smokers.
