Phra Douglas Lyle

AIKEN, SC - Phra Douglas Lyle, Ph.D., passed away at his residence on Monday, October 10, 2016.

Phra Douglas Lyle (Doug) was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 26, 1945. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Central Michigan with a Master of Business Administration and earned a Master and Doctorate of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He worked as a Senior Research Engineer for Owens Corning and Advanced Glass Yarns.

Doug is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Lyle; two daughters, Amanda Lyle Phillips of Aiken, SC, and Jennifer (Evan) Lyle Kapelski of Hilton Head Island, SC; two granddaughters, Sarah-Elizabeth and Kyla Rae; and a brother, Richard (Mimi) Lyle of Orlando, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Phra and Kathleen.

Visiting hours will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Service and burial will be private.
