Phyllis B. Carllisle

Phyllis Brennan Carlisle, 94, wife of the late William Mitchell Carlisle, entered into rest August 29, 2011.

Phyllis was born October 17, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She lived in Aiken for the past 52 years. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church. Phyllis enjoyed her many years of playing golf at Highland Park Country Club. She was a member of the Wildwood Garden Club. She took great joy and pride in her family as they in her, especially sharing 27 years of summer vacations at Edisto Beach.

In addition to her loving husband Mitchell of 50 years she was preceded in death by grandson William Mitchell Carlisle III and daughter-in-law Charlotte V. Carlisle.

She is survived by a daughter Pat Robert Heilig, and sons Bill, Steve Ginger, Jimmy Ellie and Michael Patricia Carlisle and grandchildren Rob Heilig, Sarah Heilig, Shanna n Carlisle, Christian Carlisle, Catherine Osborne, Rachael Angel, Patrick Carlisle, David Carlisle and Daniel Carlisle and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving and devoted caregiver Patricia Carter.

Funeral services will take place at 3pm at Aiken's First Baptist Church, Wednesday, August 31, 2011 with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 2pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St., NE, Aiken, SC 29801.
