Rachael Howle Dry

AIKEN, SC- Rachael Howle Dry, age 62, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015.

Rachael was born November 21, 1952 in Charleston, SC, the only child of the late James McNeal and Wilhemina Bryant Howle. She graduated from Columbia College and received her teaching certification from the College of Charleston. Rachael lived in St. Louis from 1981 until 1990 when she made Aiken, SC her home. While in St. Louis, she was active behind the scenes in many theatrical programs, where she ran the lights and sound. In Aiken, she taught for the Aiken County Public School System at Millbrook Elementary and later at St. Mary's Catholic School. Rachael enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen M. Dry; a daughter, Heather Howle Dry, Aiken, SC; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Howle Dry (Stephanie Kwan), South Korea; no grand children, but four grand-dogs, Gunner, Oliver, Adie, and Kona, and one grand-cat, Frodo.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the George Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Barry Antley will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken SPCA Albrect Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
