Ray Jackson Woodzell

Ray Jackson Woodzell, 85, of Graniteville died on October 20, 2010.

Mr. Woodzell was a son of the late Ray Jameson and Lana M. Woodzell of Webster Springs, WV. His wife Phyllis E. Woodzell and twin brother, Robert J. Woodzell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Joan Phillips Woodzell: three daughters: Karen A. Rexrode, Lisa K. Hood and Leslie K. Woodzell: four grandchildren: Rebecca and Danny Rexrode, Brian and Jennifer Hood of Northern Virginia.

Mr. Woodzell is a WWII veteran who served with the 88th Division in Italy with three campaign stars and the Purple Heart.

He attended WV Institute of Technology, George Washington University and William and Mary College.

He retired from the CIA with thirty years of service. Mr. Woodzell's CIA service includes six overseas tours. Two tours to Berlin and one each to Okinawa, Vietnam, Mexico City and Panama. He was awarded the CIA Silver Medallion and the Vietnam Service Medal.

He is a member of the Central Intelligence Retiree's Association, Disabled American Veterans Association, National Association of Retired Federal Employee's and past volunteer of the Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Friends may call from noon to 2 PM on Monday, the 25th of October at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, SC 29801. Graveside services, with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, at 2:30 PM.

Memorial donations can be made to St. John's United Methodist Church of Aiken.
