Richard Ray Penix

AIKEN, SC- Richard (Dick/Trickie) Ray Penix, age 71, joined family and friends in heaven on the 22nd of November 2015 after battling multiple myeloma.

Dick lived in Aiken, South Carolina for most of his life and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Dick will truly be missed by his family, extended family, friends, neighbors, and golfing buddies at Houndslake Country Club. Dick attended Aiken High School and graduated in 1962. He worked at DuPont/Westinghouse at Savannah River Site and retired in 2000. He was a reservist in the Air National Guard at McEntire National Guard Base near Eastover, South Carolina and took part in Desert Storm. Dick was extremely proud of his service to his country and retired after 31 years. After his retirement, Dick enjoyed his many friends, playing golf, and was a staunch supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the Faith Center of St. John's United Methodist Church. The Reverend Doctor Tim McClendon will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in Ward Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
