Rickey Howard Jordan, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, following a sudden illness.
Born in Greensboro, NC on December 19th, 1953, Rickey lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep love for family and the great outdoors.
A proud alumnus of North Carolina State University, Rickey pursued a career in civil engineering and retired from Nuclear Engineering. His work in the energy sector showcased his commitment to building a sustainable future and solidified his reputation as a leader and innovator.
Rickey's love for nature and wildlife was reflected in his passionate involvement with organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, the NRA, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Friends and family alike remember Rickey for his love of hunting and the times he spent sharing stories and laughter at turkey and duck events.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Sessoms Jordan, who remained steadfast by his side throughout their journey together. Rickey was a proud and guiding father to his cherished sons, Blake Jordan (and wife Stephanie) of Fuqay-Varina, NC, and Eric Jordan (and wife Denise) of Clayton, NC. As a grandfather, his joy and wisdom were lovingly bestowed upon his four grandchildren: Matthew, Riley, Alexander, and Alaina Jordan.
Rickey is also survived by his dear sister, Diane Jordan Combs of Fulshear, TX, and will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred Howard Jordan and Opal Jordan, and his brother, Ronnie Jordan, whose memories remain dearly etched in their hearts.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who offered support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120 or the National Wild Turkey Federation, 770 Augusta Road, Edgefield, SC 29824-0530—a fitting tribute to the legacy Rickey left behind.
