Robert C. Barnett

Aiken, SC-Robert Chapman "Bud" Barnett, Jr., loving son, died November 15, 2016 at the age of 59. Mr. Barnett, born in Akron, Ohio was the son of Robert C. Barnett, Sr. and Mary Budd Barnett of Aiken, SC.

Mr. Barnett graduated with a degree in Geology from Indiana University in 1979 and spent most of his years living and working in Austin, Texas. While a student in the Master of Paleontology Program at the University of Texas, he discovered the skull and jaw of a 97 million year old Ichthyosaurs. His passions in life were archeology and paleontology. He relocated to Aiken, SC in 2012 to be near his family.

Survivors include his brother John Barnett of Norwich, NY, his sisters Elizabeth (Chuck) Rikard of Evans, GA and Claire Barnett of Elko, SC. His niece Hilaire Rangos of Paris, France and his nephew Christopher (Laura) Huerta of Highlands, NC

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. The family will greet friends after the service. Interment will be at a later date in Washington, GA.
