Ruby Doolittle Godfrey

January 21, 1919 — March 23, 2006

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Doolittle Godfrey will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2pm at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Interment will follow at Kedron Baptist Church Cemetery, Aiken. Visitation will be this evening at the funeral home from 6-8pm. The family will also be gathered at the home of Alice Scott.

Mrs. Godfrey, 87, of Aiken, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at her residence. Born in Edgefield County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jennings Willis and Bennie L Doolittle Willis. She was a retired spinning room operator at the Graniteville Co.

She is survived by six daughters, Alice Scott, Aiken, Betty Terry Clark, Lexington, Hazel Robinson, Aiken, Nancy Lewis Shead, Ridge Spring, Martha William Scott, Ridge Spring, and Mary Robert Harris, Vaucluse, a son; William C. Peggy Doolittle, Aiken, two brothers; Horace Ruby Willis, Modoc and Raymond Gale Willis, McCormick, and a sister; Addie Darnell, Jackson. Mrs. Godfrey is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
