Ryan John Mccowan

Funeral services for Ryan J. McCowan will be held Friday, December 9th at 11am at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Aiken. Interment will be private at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8pm at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel 3175 Whiskey Rd. Aiken. Memorial donations may be directed to Golden Harvest Food Bank 13 Enterprise Ave. Aiken, SC 29803. Ryan, 21, of Aiken, died Friday December 3, 2004 in Waynesboro, VA. The son of John R. and Leslie Myers McCowan, he was born in Latrobe, PA and had lived in Greensburg, PA before moving to Aiken in 1989. A 2001 graduate of Aiken High School, he had been a member of the school soccer team. He also liked basketball, playing for many years for the New Covenant Presbyterian Church team in the area church recreation league. He had also played for many years in the SC Classic Soccer League. He was employed at the Dye plant at Avondale Mills, Graniteville. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Meagan Anne Bender, Panama City, FL, his maternal-grandmother; Genevieve Myers, Aiken, and his paternal grandmother; Anne McCowan, Harrison, OH.
