Sarah Jane Byrd

Graveside services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Byrd will be held Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 3 PM at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Family and friends will meet at the graveside. The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2005 from 6-8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC.

Mrs. Byrd, 68, of Aiken, SC, died Tuesday, morning, April 19, 2005 at Azalea Woods Nursing Center, Aiken, SC.

Born in St. Paul, VA, she was a daughter of the late Luther Paul and Rosa Virginia Salyers Harrison. Mrs. Byrd was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, was a homemaker and had also been a hostess at McDonalds on Whiskey Rd.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Gilbert Byrd, sons, Charles Andrew ?Chuck? Byrd, Aiken, SC, Leroy Gilbert Byrd, Columbia, SC, Richard Allen Byrd, Aiken, SC, and Christopher Brian Byrd, Jacksonville, FL; sister, Frances Walker, Aiken, SC; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
