Shannon Goosey Hay

June 22, 1950 — March 27, 2022

Shannon Goosey Hay, 71, widow of the late William Alan Hay, Sr., entered into heaven with her Savior on March 27th, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. following an extended illness.

Born in Big Timber, Montana on June 22, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm & Hazel Irene Wheeler Goosey. Mrs. Hay was a lifelong member of Town Creek Baptist Church where she assisted her husband in teaching Sunday School for many years. She was also a faithful member of the sanctuary choir for as long as her health permitted. She was a 1968 graduate of Aiken High School where she was a member of the Poetry Club. She was an avid reader and loved writing poetry. She was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She leaves behind her son, William Alan Hay, II of Toccoa, GA; 3 sisters, Lianne Gregory (Phillip) of Kalispell, Montana, Lauren Hall (Ronnie) of Aiken & Dianne Courage (Kelly) of Lolo, Montana; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Abigail Hay (Brandon); 3 great-grandchildren, Kyrie Adkins, Brandon Adkins, & Joanna Marie Adkins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00p.m. in the Historic George Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Fleetwood officiating. A private family interment will take place following in Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30p.m. until 2:00p.m. at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234) and at other times at the home of Stan & Deana Hay, 449 Brier Patch Lane, Warrenville, SC 29851.
