Shirley Ann Harden

AIKEN, SC - Shirley Ann Harden, age 65, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born January 2, 1952 in Aiken, SC to the late James Columbus Hough and Elizabeth Jones Hough. She was a member of Shaws Fork Baptist Church and retired as the Chief Enforcement Officer for the Aiken County Government in Animal Litter Control. Shirley was an avid animal lover and protector. She was a deacon in her church and was a very giving person. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her church, the beach, and the mountains in the early fall.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Hough.

She is survived by Joseph E. Harden, her beloved husband of 47 years; two sons, Chris Harden (Kristy) and Timothy Harden, all of Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Alissa, Joshua, Carter, and Timothy Lex Harden; nieces, Darlene Kerrigan and Jennifer Hough; nephew, William Crosby; and brothers-in-law, Bill Harden (Mary), John Harden (Cathy), and Herbie Harden (Stephanie).

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Shaws Fork Baptist Church, 1085 Shaws Fork Rd, Aiken, SC 29805, with a funeral service being held at 3:00 PM. Pastor Donny Royster will officiate.
