Sidney Don Stokes

Sidney Don Stokes, 72, of Bradley Mill Road, Aiken, died Tuesday October 9, 2012.

Born January 14, 1940 in Aiken, to the late Joseph Ray Stokes and Cora Johnson Stokes Mason, he spent his life in Columbia and Aiken, S.C. Sidney worked in the family grocery business prior to moving to Columbia. He returned to Aiken in 2001 and was an active member of the Tri-Development Center Seniors Group. Sidney enjoyed spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Charles Richard Stokes and a sister Goldelia Lipford Alexander.

He is survived by nieces and cousins and his family at Tri-Development Center of Aiken County Inc.

Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Monday, October 15, 2012 at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken with Pastor Curtis Blocker officiating. Burial will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Tri-Development Center staff will serve as pallbearers and as flower bearers. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10am until the time of the service.
