Stanley Frederick Petry

Mr. Stanley Frederick Petry, 74, husband of Mrs. Scott Maness Petry, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 1PM, Monday, June 28, 2004 at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel with life long friend Jack Alley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 5-7PM, Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the funeral home.

Mr. Petry was born in Columbus, GA to the late Ora Emmanuel and Martha Florence Petry. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with his Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at SRS, was a member of the Jaycees, Studebaker Club, Toastmasters, and enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and golfing. He served his country in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Scott Petry, daughter, Ellen Farrar, North Augusta, SC, son, Eric Petry, Bloomington, IN, step daughter, Sheila Worley, Spartanburg, SC, step son, Barry Fletcher, Aiken, SC, grandchildren, Bryan Worley, Darin Worley, Kristine Farrar, Stephen Farrar, Joel Farrar, Asa Petry, Micah Farrar, Gaia Petry, and Jasper Petry.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
