A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Steve Crossland, 57, of Aiken,

will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at George Funeral Homes? Historic Downtown

Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW. Interment will be private. The family would

like to invite everyone to the home, following the service.

Steve, husband, soul mate and best friend of Vikki Crossland, died

suddenly Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at his home.

Born in Orono, Maine, a son of the late Carlton Crossland and Lucy Rutt

of Aiken, Steve had been a resident of Aiken County for the past 20

years. He was an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Savannah River

Site. A Vietnam veteran, he served his country in the United States

States Marine Corps.

In addition to his wife of 26 years, Vikki Crossland, and his mother,

Lucy Rutt, survivors include a son, Keith P. Crossland and his wife,

Star Martin Crossland, of Aiken; a daughter, Brandi Crossland, of Aiken,

and a grandchild, Haley Crossland.

The family has requested that memorials in memory of Steve be made to

the American Cancer Society, P.O. Drawer K, Aiken, S.C., 29802, or the

American Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Rd., Aiken, SC, 29803.
