Steve spent his early years in Rock Island, IL and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where he met the love of his life, Paulette. She subsequently introduced him to our Lord and Savior; which changed the course of his life. After completing his graduate work in physics at Georgia Tech, he sacrificed career and wealth to serve as a missionary in Tennessee and southern Georgia. He later worked for many years in the nuclear industry as a nuclear physicist and was nationally known for his exceptional technical skill. Though very accomplished professionally, he only had two real passions in his life, his family and his church. He dedicated his life to teaching his children and grandchildren to be exceptional, to live with integrity, and to love God. 3 John 1:4 best summarizes his life passion: ‘‘I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth”. As a founding member of the North Augusta Seventh-day Adventist Church, he dedicated much of his life to supporting, teaching, and guiding his church family. He was an exceptional leader that never wanted to lead, a deeply humble man that shunned all recognition or position. He had incredible knowledge and skill in many facets of life from the trades to philosophy, but it was his spiritual insight and true wisdom that drew many to seek his counsel. Steve,

Daddy, Pa, and Old Goat (some of his many names) was always the one with answers to all life’s question. He fought a valiant and challenging battle with leukemia but spent most of his time cheering up his friends and family. He passed away peacefully with absolute assurance that his next waking moment will be the Second Coming of our Lord.
