Stuart Sisson Manter

Stuart Sisson Manter of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, at the age of 66.

Born on Thursday, July 14th, 1959, in Aiken, South Carolina, Stuart lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family, friends, and community.

Stuart is survived by his loving children, his son Matthew Stuart Manter and his wife Emily of Columbia, and his daughter Megan Elizabeth Manter of Lexington. He was also a proud grandfather to his beloved granddaughter, Abigail Grace Meadows, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of a grandson who will carry his granddad's name, Stuart, in his honor. Stuart is also survived by his brother, Richard Dean Manter of Aiken, SC.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank Irving Manter Jr. and Frances Manter, as well as his brothers, Bruce W. Manter and Douglas K. Manter.

Stuart was a dedicated auditor for the State of South Carolina, where he was known for his commitment and integrity. Beyond his professional life, Stuart had a passion for fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends near the water at the lake. Boating was a particular joy for him, encapsulating the serenity and joy he found in nature.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Stuart's life will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, SC, on Friday, August 1st, 2025, at 11:00am. Family, friends, and those who knew him are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Stuart's memory to make a donation to a charity of their choice, ensuring that his legacy of generosity and kindness continues to impact others positively.
