Susan B. Caney

Mrs. Susan Beattie Caney, 85, wife of the late Farnaham Wheeler Caney, Sr., died Monday, January 6, 2003 at Brandon Wilde in Evans, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church at 11am. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons. Mrs. Caney was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Beattie and a native of Cohoes, NY. She lived in Aiken from 1952-1992 then moving to Brandon Wilde. She attended Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. She was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, while living in Aiken and Church Of The Good Shepard, Augusta, GA while living at Brandon Wilde. Mrs. Caney served on various women?s committees and diocese committees and a member of Board of Visitors at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC. Survivors include her two sons, Farnham Wheeler Caney, Jr. Wilmington, NC, and Richard M. Caney, Mauldin, SC; a daughter, Fern Doyle, Scarborough, NY; brother, Raymond Beattie, Cohoes, NY; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes that memorials be made to St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton St. SW, Aiken, SC 29801 or to Brandon Wilde Endowment Fund, 4275 Owens Rd., Evans, GA 30809.
