Tom Gene Smothers

AIKEN, SC - Tom Gene Smothers, age 62, died Monday, August 7, 2017 in Asheville, NC.

Tom was born April 26, 1955 in Herron, IL to the late Arthur Gene Smothers and the late Fairy Smothers. He was an area resident for the past forty years. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and was a master electrician by trade. Tom was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling. He loved dogs and was known for his humor and being a devoted family man.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a daughter, Crystal Smothers.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Smothers; two daughters, Melanie Gomez (Andrew) and Dana Bowen (Doug), all of Dacula, GA; a son, Travis Smothers (Beth), Lexington, SC; and a step-son, Daniel Amos (Tasha), Aiken, SC, eight grandchildren, Taylor, Kolby, Kaleb, Tanner, Dessie, Colin, Grace, and Bailey; and two sisters, Terri Plunkett (Fred) Wagener, SC and Kathy Blandenburg (Robert), Augusta, GA.

A remembrance service will be held at noon on Saturday, August, 12, 2017 at Wildwood Park on Clark Hill, 3780 Dogwood Ln., Appling, GA 30802
