Funeral services for Mrs. Tommie L. McCord will be held Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 11 AM from the graveside in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Dr. W.C. Lowe officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC.

Mrs. McCord, 86, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late H. Grady McCord, died Monday, morning, June 28, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Bulloch County, GA, a daughter of the late Joseph Samuel and Carrie Lee Bessinger Fail, she had lived in Statesboro, GA, until 1962 when she came to Aiken, SC, and retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass in 1976. Mrs. McCord loved to cook for her family.

A daughter, Linda Lewis, and her husband William B., Fayetteville, GA; sons, Douglas C. Hodges, Ralph Hodges, and his wife Vickie, Aiken, SC, and Emerson T. Hodges, Columbia, SC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, survive.

The family has requested that memorials in memory of Mrs. McCord be made to the charity of your choice.
