Velma Furr

AIKEN, SC- VELMA WALLING FURR, 82, entered into rest, Friday, November 28, 2014 at University Hospital.

Born April 16, 1932 in Anderson, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Geneva Johnson. Mrs. Furr had made Aiken, SC her home for the past 65 years. She was of the Baptist faith and loved her family very much.

Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her first husband, James T. Walling; her second husband, William Eugene Custer; and a son, Steven Dale Walling. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Arflin, of Anderson, SC and Terri and her husband Walter Rucker of Lexington, SC; a son, Derrial and his wife Jennifer Walling of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Tiana Bottoms, Shannon Reardon, Trevor Walling, Brandon Arflin, and Joey Welch; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation, 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510, Kansas City, MO 64114.

A private family interment was held in Southlawn Cemetery in Aiken, South Carolina.
