Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Wadford Puette will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at 11 AM from the graveside in the veterans section of Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Edward Newsome officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Puette, 79, wife of the late Lyman Bruce Puette, died Sunday, night, February 22, 2004 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA.

Born in South Carolina, a daughter of the late Cecil Alexander and Olivette Osteen Wadford, she had been a resident of Jackson, SC, since 1963 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and had been a Secretary for the Aiken County School System for many years.

A daughter, Dr. Michelle Puette, D.V.M., Athens, GA; sons, Bruce Puette, Wallace, SC, John Puette, Greer, SC, Charles Puette, Grovetown, GA, and Scott Puette, Crestview, FL; brother, Master Sergeant Sgt. Cecil Alexander Wadford, Jr., Wausau, FL, U.S. Army Retired, who proudly served his country in World War II, Korea, and the Vietnam War, and grandchildren, John D., Joshua Michael, Jennifer, and William Puette, survive.

The family has asked that memorials be made to United Hospice, 1226 Augusta West Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909.
