Wayne M. Heidtman

AIKEN, SC – Wayne M. Heidtman of Aiken, SC, formerly of Temperance, MI, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Wayne was born in 1928 to the late Albert and Clara (Salo) Heidtman. In 1951 he married Shirley A. Madison. Wayne graduated from Macomber High School in 1946. He served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone in 1983 as an Assistant Manager.

Wayne was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Aiken and its Fellowship Sunday School Class; Life member Samaria Masonic Lodge #438 F&AM; Life Member Aiken Masonic Lodge #156 F&AM; 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite; Past High Priest Mt. Vernon Chapter #37, RAM; Past Patron Samaria Chapter #391 Order of the Eastern Star; Member of the Golden Glo #76 Order of the Eastern Star; Telephone Pioneers; Aiken Senior Men’s Club; and former member of the Hospital Auxiliary of Aiken.

Wayne is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Barbara Throneburg (Bill), Aiken, SC and Sandra Heidtman, Illinois; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Donald; and a daughter, Pamela.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC. The St. John’s Fellowship Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends following the service in Ward Hall.
