William Edward Hamilton

March 9, 1952 — April 20, 2018

William “Bill” Hamilton, peacefully passed on to heaven, April 20, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son in law.

Mr. Hamilton was born on March 9, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland to the late Charles and Doris Hamilton.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his children Jennifer Hamilton Wright (Chris) and William Richard Hamilton and three grandchildren Lauren, Rebecca and Katherine Wright, his mother in law Dolores Wood; as well as his siblings Charles,Edward, Cheryl and Mark. He was preceded in death by his son Chad Christian Hamilton.

William was a retired Chief Warrant Officer 3rd class, in the US Army, who served honorably as a maintenance and logistics officer for twenty years, including a tour in Operation Desert Shield/Storm, followed by a 20 year career with the city of Aiken.

Bill moved to Aiken in 1985 and was an active member in the local community. He was a former Vice-President of the Aiken Jaycee's, a volunteer fireman for the Silver Bluff Volunteer Fire Department and a Captain for the Aiken County Hazmat Team. He was also a 30 year Master Mason.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Silver Bluff volunteer fire department.
