William Douglas Smith, born on March 28, 1959, in Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Aiken, South Carolina. At the age of 66, William leaves behind a loving family and a legacy of cherished memories.
Residing in Aiken, William was a beloved member of the community. He was a dedicated computer programmer with a passion for exploring the digital world. William's enthusiasm extended beyond his professional life; he was an avid Clemson football fan and enjoyed spending time deer hunting and engaging in lively debates. He also had a penchant for experiencing vibrant nightlife.
William was a loving father who cherished his daughter, Meagan Kiser, and her husband, Michael, both of Aiken. He is survived by his devoted mother, Patricia Marie Smith, also of Aiken; three brothers, Danny (Debra) Smith, Doyle (Terri) Smith, and David Smith; and one sister, Donna (Tom) Phillips of Augusta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father, James D. Smith, and a sister, Linda Darlene Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Clemson University Scholarship Fund, honoring William's love for Clemson football and commitment to education.
