Wilson R. Jones

Mr. Wilson R. Jones, 82, of Aiken, SC, beloved husband of Frances N. Jones, entered into eternal rest on Saturday. December 25, 2010 at Unihealth-PAC, Aiken.

Born in Smithfield, VA, he was the son of the late Vernon Wilson Jones and Della Blanche Hooker. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Coast Guard and US Army. A long time resident of Aiken, he retired after thirty-seven years at the Savannah River Plant.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Ginny Carl Cowart, Charlotte, NC and Vicki Ralph Hodges, Aiken, and a son; Vernon Lisa Jones, Columbia, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Funeral services and interment will be private. Memorial donations may be directed to Solaris Hospice, 156 University Parkway, Suite 101, Aiken, SC 29801.
