Wilson Hallman Young

Funeral services for Wilson Hallman Young will be held on Friday, March 25, 2005 at 11am at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW with his nephew, Rev. Dwayne Anderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Joey Clark, John Willis, Larry Young, Carl Carver, Travis Campbell and Keith Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Taylor and Adam Freeman. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.

Mr. Young, 65, of Aiken, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A lifelong resident of Aiken, he was the son of the late Marion Young and Mrs. Alma Jackson Young. Mr. Young was a self-employed brick mason, but was also well known for being the ?Dad? in Dad?s Bar-B-Q, in Couchton. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his father, he was pre-deceased by a sister, Judy Gleaton. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Carver Young, three children; Russell Wilson Young, Aiken, Cynthia B. Scott, Aiken and Debra A. Walker, Wagener, his mother, Alma Young, Aiken, two sisters; Evelyn Williams, Aiken and Nancy Tinsley, Wagener, five grandchildren; Christopher Scott, Jason Walker, Daniel Scott, Ashley Young & Adam Young. Mr. Young was also survived by one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Graham.
