Evelyn Josephine Ross

Evelyn (Lynn) Josephine Ross, a beloved resident of Aiken, SC, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Lynn, born on Thursday, July 20th, 1933, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, was a cherished homemaker who devoted her life to her family and community.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents, Stanley B. Nowicki Sr. and Josephine Nowicki. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Nowicki, Eddie Nowicki, Stanley Nowicki Jr., and Casimir Nowicki, and sisters, Veronica Gluszak and Celia Maciejewski.

She is survived by her devoted son, Jeffery A. (Bette) Ross of Aiken, SC, and loving daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Wampole of Mount Pleasant, WI. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Loretta Payls of Countryside, IL, and five adored grandchildren: Zachary Ross, Matthew Ross, Lilianne Ross, Grace Wampole, and Alexander Wampole.

Lynn took great pride in her family and was blessed with a long and active life. She spent much of her life in La Grange, IL and developed a passion for golfing and bowling. After moving to Aiken, SC, she often volunteered with the ACTS Ministry. Her Polish heritage was a significant part of her life, and she was known for her delightful cooking and baking. She loved music and singing, and attending concerts and festivals with friends and family which along with traveling brought her great joy.

A funeral mass will be held to honor Lynn’s life at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Gloverville, SC September 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Aiken, SC. Friends and family may contact the funeral home at (803) 649-6234 for further information.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Evelyn's memory to the ACTS Ministry, where she dedicated much of her time and energy.

Lynn Josephine Ross will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her. Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and selfless service to others.
