Obituary of Ernest Robert Wolf

Ernest Robert Wolf, 95, of Aiken, SC passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16th, 2024. Ernest was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Mr. Wolf was born on December 7th, 1928, in Niagara Falls, NY, a son of the late Otto Peter and Sophie Schiesser Wolf. Mr. Wolf was a United States Army veteran. After leaving the army, Ernie started working for Kimberly Clark in 1948. He began his career working in the Manufacturing Dept. in Niagara Falls, NY and retired 40 years later as a Mechanical Design Engineer and the Engineering Manager of Infant Care Division in Beech Island, SC. He married the love of his life, Lois L. Hildebrandt in 1949. Ernie was a parishioner at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken. He was a former Eucharist Minister and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid wood worker who loved creating furniture and other beautiful pieces of art. He was a master at re-engineering items to better suit his needs and desires. He loved traveling, but most of all loved the time he was able to spend with family and friends. He was the best dad and granddad anyone could ask for.  He dedicated his life to his work, family, and faith. Ernie will be dearly missed by all that knew him. 

Ernie is survived by 2 sons, Douglas Allan (Mary) Wolf and Timothy Lee (Roben) Wolf all of Aiken; 2 daughters,  Barbara Anne (H. Fred) Joyner and Jacklyn Marie Williams all of Aiken; grandchildren:  Christopher Otto (Meg) Wolf, Rachael W.  (Cody Lee) Simon, Carolyn Morgan Wolf, Keyna L. (George H.) Chapel, Timothy Lee Wolf, Jr., Lauren N. Frommer, Sara E. (Ashley) Wood, Curtis (Ashton) Canty, Jessica (James) Setters, Jamie (Jeremy) Pittman, & Kelly (Drew) Peters; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Wyatt, Hudson, Madison, Alexis, Greggory; special people whom he considered as grandchildren, Jacob, Will & Susie Joyner and his cat, Murphy Wolf.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wolf was pre-deceased in death by his wife, Lois. L. Wolf, his brother, Oscar "Mike" Wolf, his son-in-law, Jeffrey D. Frommer,  his grandson, Greggory K. Williams, and his friend, Linda Soyars. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2:00pm at St. Mary Help of Christians Church, 138 Fairfield Street SE, Aiken, SC 29801 with Father Richard Wilson as celebrant. 

Final rites and commendation will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1255 University Lane, Aiken, SC 29801

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:00pm until 6:30m at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234
